Siamese cats’ charms are undeniable. Their grace and beauty are as endearing as their personalities. It is not surprising that they often appear in TV shows and movies.

So, how about we look at what films and TV shows feature Siamese cats? Follow along as we learn more!

I have seen most of these films and shows, and writing this list made me nostalgic. A lot of these are pretty good and worth your time!

What Movies Have Siamese Cats In Them?

1. Lady and the Tramp (1955)

“Lady and the Tramp” is an English animated romantic musical movie by Walt Disney. It was Disney’s fifteenth animated feature film.

The movie was first made available to the public in June 1955 by Buena Vista Film.

Aunt Sarah has a pair of identical Siamese cats in the movie. They go by the names Si and Am.

Si and Am are a play on words on the origin of Siamese cats, the country Siam.

Si and Am were always getting into trouble and mischief. In the film, Aunt Sarah takes care of Jim Jr., her nephew, and Lady, a female dog.

Both Si and Am play supporting roles as antagonists in the movie. They are sisters and shady pairs who take great pleasure in making trouble wherever they can.

Si and Am are well-known for their catchphrase, “We are Siamese, please!”

Si and Am perform their signature musical, “The Siamese Cat Song,” in the movie. They make a mess of the house, lay claim to it, and sing about how they will eat the family’s fish and bird while singing it.

The movie has a sequel titled Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure. It was in February 2001 that it came out, 46 years after the original film!

I enjoyed this film because my Siamese cats came in pairs too, Batman and Robyn!

If you have one Siamese cat now, you might be wondering if Siamese cats are better in pairs. Should you get another one? Find out the answer by reading this article I recently wrote: https://siamesekittykat.com/19-sure-signs-youre-ready-for-another-siamese-cat/

2. Bell, Book, and Candle (1958)

“Bell, Book, and Candle” is an American fantasy/rom-com film from 1958. It is from the same-titled 1950 Broadway play by John Van Druten.

Kim Novak played the lead role of a witch. She puts a spell on James Stewart’s character, who’s her next-door neighbor.

There’s a Siamese cat named Pyewacket in this movie. Pyewacket is a traditional Seal Point Siamese cat and is the pet of Kim Novak’s witch character.

Pyewacket was Kim Novak’s real-life pet and the cat’s actual name. Many people have named their Siamese cats Pyewacket since then. Aside from Pyewacket, there are lots of unique and lovely names you can give your Siamese cat. Here’s a comprehensive list you can choose from for the best name for your Siamese cat: Best Names for Siamese Cats

3. The Incredible Journey (1963)

“The Incredible Journey” is a Walt Disney movie by Fletcher Markle. It comes from the same-titled novel by British-Canadian author Sheila Burnford in 1961.

The film has superb shots, with vibrant colors and stunning scenery. The film’s scenes in the great outdoors were incredibly well received. It premiered on November 20, 1963, via Buena Vista Distribution.

It follows the adventures of Luath, a Labrador Retriever, Bodger, a Bull Terrier, and Tao, a Siamese cat. They travel 250 miles (400 km) along the Canadian wilderness to return home.

Tao, a feisty Siamese cat, enjoys the comforts of their new temporary home. Luath, the Labrador retriever, misses their human family and wishes to return home. His close buddies Tao and Bodge decided to go with Luath even though it meant going 250 miles back home,

This Disney masterpiece is one of my favorites! I appreciate that it stays true to its story while being straightforward and warm. I recommend this movie if you want to watch something good with your grandkids!

Siamese cats can also have travel adventures in real life. Check out these comprehensive guide about traveling with your beloved feline: Siamese Cat Travel and Tourism

There are two remakes of “The Incredible Journey.” The initial one is “Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey,” released in 1993. The following is “Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco,” which came about in 1996. Both movies featured a Himalayan cat in place of a Siamese cat.

But aren’t Siamese and Himalayan cats the same? I revealed the answer in one of my recent blog posts. Check it out by clicking here.

4. That Darn Cat! (1965)

“That Darn Cat!” is a 1965 American comedy-thriller film directed by Robert Stevenson. Hayley Mills, Dorothy Provine, and Dean Jones starred in the film.

The movie’s plot involves a mischievous cat, a bank, and a kidnapping.

The screenplay comes from the novel Undercover Cat, written in 1963 by Mildred Gordon. Most scenes in the movie take place in Burbank, California.

“Darn Cat,” also known as “DC,” is a clever, daring Siamese house cat who lives with the Randall sisters, “Inky” and “Patti.” They like to walk around town at night. One night, DC decided to follow a bank robber named Iggy, which is where the story goes on.

There were several Seal Point Siamese cats who, together, played the role of DC. They were old-style Siamese cats of the well-known cat breeder Edith Williams.

One of the cats in the movie also appeared in another Disney film. The Incredible Journey.

5. The Aristocats (1970)

“The Aristocats” is an American animated romantic musical comedy from 1970. Walt Disney Studios’ “The Aristocats” director was Wolfgang Reitherman.

The Aristocats was first made available to the public in December 1970. It was a commercial success from then on. The film is from a tale written by Tom McGowan and Tom Rowe and focuses on a family of elite cats.

Duchess Berlioz, Marie, and Toulouse live in Paris with Madame Adelaide. The cats were like royalty and enjoyed a life of privilege as pets.

Madame Adelaide said she would leave her fortune to her cats first, then to Edgar once the cats died. Edgar overhears this and thinks he might die before inheriting the fortune. He decided to find a way to shoo the elite cats away.

The story continues after Duchess meets Thomas O’Malley, a streetwise cat.

The movie has memorable songs, like “Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat,” sung by O’Malley’s friend Scat Cat and his band.

One of Scat Cat’s musicians is a Siamese cat named Shun Gon, who plays the drums and piano.

It’s not just in movies. Siamese cats can be friends with other cats in real life too! One great example of genuine cat friendship is the bond between my two Siamese cats and Boots, our American Shorthair cat. Why Did Disney Remove The Siamese Cat Song?

“We Are Siamese” is a song featured in the classic animated movie Lady and the Tramp. The film features two Siamese cats, Si and Am, who sing the song.

The music was for Lady and Tramp’s wedding. They stayed together for three years until they decided to get married.

There is a problem with the Siamese Cat Song. The infamous Siamese Cat Song has been the subject of heated debate.

Many viewers expressed concern that the song was too racist. Disney decided to take the song out of its catalog after receiving negative feedback.

The Siamese Cat Song became controversial ever since the complaints.

Disney removed the music because the lyrics seemed offensive to many races. They also mentioned that the tune could have been more varied and catchy.

Audiences’ opinions played a significant role in the final decision. Disney also mentioned that the song sounds dated, so getting rid of it might be a good idea.

Many people mentioned the frequent portrayal of Siamese cats as villains in films. A few parents also criticized that the song frightened their kids. It made children fear Siamese cats in reality, which in itself is heartbreaking to hear.

Feline lovers argue that Siamese cats should not only be famous as evil or villains. These cats, in reality, are so loving and kind that they deserve to star in the media as “human-loving” pets.

Are There Siamese Cats In Aristocats?

There is one Siamese cat featured in the Disney film The Aristocats. The cat’s name is Shon Gun.

Shon Gun is a musician and friends with Scat Cat. Scat Cat is a friend of Thomas O’Malley, the smooth-talking, streetwise cat.

Thomas O’Malley is an adult cat who falls in love with Duchess in the movie. Duchess is a mother cat of three kittens, Marie, Toulouse, and Berloiz. The cat’s name, Thomas O’Malley, came from the movie’s director, Thomas O’Malley.

Many cat followers love this classic Disney film. The setting for this 1970 film is Paris, France. Many cats are present here, such as a Russian cat, an Italian cat, an English cat, and a Siamese cat. They belong to Scat Cat’s band.

Shon Gun is a Scat Cat band member and plays the drums and piano. Scat Cat gang performed the movie’s famous “Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat” song.
