Preparing homemade cat food is a regular part of my weekly routine. I started with simple recipes. I included other ingredients afterwards to add nutrients to Batman and Robyn’s diets. I find it rewarding to see my Siamese cats enjoying the food I’ve made.

The recipes below serve as a meal for an average-sized adult cat. Feel free to adjust and personalize based on your cat’s age, weight, and usual serving. That way, your cat gets the proper nutrition according to his needs.


1. Nutritious Tuna and Veggie Rice Meal

Ingredients:

  • One can of tuna packed in water (do not use tuna in oil)
  • One tablespoon of cooked peas (chopped into small pieces)
  • One tablespoon of cooked spinach (chopped into small pieces)
  • Half a cup of cooked white rice

Instructions:

  1. Remove the water from the tuna can. 
  2. Transfer the drained tuna into a mixing bowl. 
  3. Combine the cooked rice with the tuna. Make sure the rice mixes well with the tuna. 
  4. Add the cooked peas.
  5. Add the spinach to the mixture. Mix thoroughly to incorporate all the ingredients. 
  6. Transfer the tuna and rice mixture to your cat’s bowl. Keep in mind the right serving for him. 
  7. Time to serve the tuna and veggie rice meal to your cat.

2. Savory Turkey with Carrot and Squash Delight

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of mashed squash
  • 1/4 cup of diced carrots
  • One turkey breast (boneless and skinless)
  • 1/4 cup of water

Instructions:

  1. Cut the turkey breast into tiny pieces.
  2. Add diced carrots to a small saucepan.
  3. Pour water into the saucepan and mix.
  4. Add mashed squash and stir for half a minute.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. Reduce the heat. Let it simmer for about 6 minutes so that the veggies will be tender.
  7. Add the turkey pieces to the saucepan and cook well.
  8. Wait another 10 minutes to let the turkey soak up all the veggie flavors.
  9. Remove the saucepan. Let the mixture cool down.
  10. Mash the mixture to reach your cat’s desired consistency. (My cats like a smooth texture more than a chunky one, so I blend the mixture using a food processor.)
  11. Store the leftovers in the fridge. You can serve it alternately for up to 2 days.

3. Ducky Potato Stew

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound of skinless, boneless duck breast 
  • One medium-sized potato (peeled and diced)
  • Water
  • 1/4 cup of peas
  • 1/4 cup of carrots, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Cut the duck breast into small pieces. 
  2. Grab a small saucepan. Add the diced potatoes. Add the peas and carrots after a minute.
  3. Add enough water to cover the veggies. Wait until the mixture boils. 
  4. Reduce the heat once it’s boiling. 
  5. Let it simmer until the potatoes and veggies are nice and tender. This can be for about 12 minutes. 
  6. Add the duck pieces to the saucepan. Wait for 8-10 minutes until the duck is well-cooked. 
  7. Remove the saucepan from the heat once it’s cooked. 
  8. Let it cool down to room temperature. 
  9. Scoop the stew into your cat’s bowl and serve it up.

4. Delicious Ground Beef and Green Beans

Ingredients:

  • One pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup green beans
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Heat 1 tbsp. Olive oil in a small pan over medium heat. 
  2. Add the ground beef. Wait until it’s nicely browned. 
  3. It’s time to toss in the green beans. Give a good stir. 
  4. Let it simmer for 12 minutes until the green beans are crisp and juicy. 
  5. Let it cool down before serving it to your cat. 

5. Snacky Salmon with Sweet Potato 

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cooked sweet potato
  • 1/4 cup peas
  • 1/2 cup canned salmon

Instructions:

  1. Grab a bowl and mash up some sweet potato until it’s smooth. 
  2. Add in the canned salmon.
  3. Add the peas to the bowl and give it a good mix. This will combine all the flavors. 
  4. Serve it up to your kitty as an afternoon snack. Your cat will surely appreciate your effort in making his special snack.

6. Chicken Liver and Veggie Medley

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup chopped zucchini
  • 1/2 cup chopped carrot
  • 1/2 lb chicken liver
  • One tbsp. olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Wash the chicken liver with clean water. Chop it up into small pieces. 
  2. Put the olive oil in a small pan over medium heat.
  3. Toss in the chopped carrots.
  4. Add the zucchini after one minute. 
  5. Give it a good saute until the carrots and zucchini soften. 
  6. Add the chicken liver to the pan. Wait until its color is brown on the outside. Make sure it is well-cooked too.
  7. Give a good stir and lower the heat.
  8. Let it all simmer for around 10 minutes. 
  9. Stir occasionally until the chicken liver and veggies are soft. 
  10. Let it cool down to room temperature before serving it to your cat.

7. Ground Venison with Carrots and Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup chopped carrots
  • 1/4 cup chopped sweet potato
  • 1/2 cup chopped kale
  • 1/2 pound ground venison
  • One tablespoon of olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Put the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. 
  2. Add the ground venison. The venison should turn brown. It’s a sign that it’s fully cooked. 
  3. Add the chopped kale and carrots.
  4. Add the sweet potato to the pan after a minute. 
  5. Saute for four to five minutes. Wait until the vegetables start to soften. 
  6. Stir everything together until you reach a good texture.
  7. Transfer it to a baking dish. 
  8. Preheat the oven to 190°C.
  9. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes. 
  10. Take the dish out and let it cool down for a few minutes.
  11. Time to serve a delicious meal to your cat.

8. Salmon and Veggie Mix

Ingredients:

  • One canned salmon in water (do not use canned salmon in oil)
  • 1/4 cup cooked, chopped green beans
  • 1/4 cup cooked, chopped carrots
  • 1/8 cup diced zucchini
  • 1/8 cup diced celery
  • 1/2 vegetable broth

Instructions:

  1. Open the canned salmon.
  2. Drain the excess water.
  3. Place and flake the salmon into a bowl.
  4. Add the chopped green beans and chopped carrots to the bowl.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Add the diced zucchini and diced celery. 
  7. Add a tablespoon of vegetable broth to moisten the mixture. You can also use chicken broth.
  8. Time to serve this tasty food to your cat.

9. Broccoli and Beef Tripe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb beef tripe
  • 1/2 cup chopped broccoli florets
  • One tablespoon of olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the beef tripe thoroughly.
  2. Cut the beef tripe into small pieces.
  3. Pour some olive oil into a pan. Heat it over a medium setting.
  4. Add the beef tripe to the pan. Sauté until it is brown. 
  5. Add the chopped broccoli florets. Sauté for one to two minutes until they start to soften.
  6. Reduce to low heat. Simmer for about 10 minutes. 
  7. Stir occasionally until the beef and broccoli are soft.

  • 1/2 cup ground turkey

  2. Chop the cauliflower into small pieces. 
  3. Heat the olive oil in a deep pan over medium heat. 
  4. Add the ground turkey and cook until it’s nicely browned. (You can also use beef instead of turkey)
  5. Toss in the cauliflower and saute for three minutes. 
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and mix well.
  7. Reduce to low heat. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes
  8. Stir until the cauliflower is soft. 
  9. Scoop and serve it to your feline friend when it cools down.

Ingredients:

  • One small squash
  • One can of mackerel in water (do not use canned mackerel in oil)
  • One tablespoon of olive oil

Instructions:

  3. Add the chopped squash and mix it with the mackerel together.
  4. Drizzle a small amount of olive oil and mix it all up.
